A lot happened at Saint Pius X in October. It was great to see that amazing things continue to happen in our midst. Father Daniel did an amazing job in keeping our ship on course. He loved fulfilling his true role as the Parochial Vicar (which means representative of the Pastor). I’m hoping he’ll have many more opportunities to exercise this role in the future. I enjoyed being able to disconnect for such a period of time.
Remembering our dead
On November 2, the Church celebrates the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, commonly known as “All Souls Day.” We read the names of our parishioners who died in the past year, and families came forward to light candles in memory of loved ones who died. Throughout the month of November, our banners and candles will remain to remind us of our responsibility to pray for the dead.
Adoration
During this year we are focusing on Christ in His gift of the Eucharist. We have expanded our opportunities for you to spend time with Him, allowing Jesus to simply gaze upon you and show you His love. Let me encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities: Mondays after from 8:45 to 10 (church) and from 6 to 10 PM (Adoration chapel); Tuesdays from 6 AM to 12 Noon (Adoration chapel); Wednesday from 5:45 to 7:00 (church); Thursdays from 11:45 to 1:00 (church); and First Fridays from 7 to 8:30 PM (church).
Confessions
After consultation with the Pastoral Council and in dialogue with Father Daniel, we are changing our confession times beginning on November 30. The new confession schedule will be:
Wednesdays at 6:00 PM (with Adoration)
Fridays at 9:00 AM (with Father Frank Palmer)
First Fridays at 7:15 PM (with the Encounter experience)
